Pellet Binders

A versatile, synthetic resin that is effective at low inclusion levels as a pellet binder, uniquely formulated to contain low levels of free formaldehyde.

• Bonds formed during thermo reaction are irreversible and not affected by water, so feeds remain stable for long periods of time.
• Increased pellet durability allows transport of feed over long distance and abrasive feed applications such as automatic feeders.
• May lubricate die and thereby increase pelleting capacity and reduce pelleting energy. Reduced production of fines provides further decrease in feed processing costs.
• Reduces the incidence of fines and dust, thereby enhances the efficiency of feed utilization and image of the feed company in the eyes of the users.

Composition

Modified urea-formaldehyde resin, catalyzing agents, free-flow and anti-caking agents.

Inclusion Levels

Recommended at the rate of 1-6kg/Mt (2 -13 lb /ton) in all feeds.

Application

To be added directly into the mixer. If two-stage grinding and mixing is used, it is recommended that the Pellet Binder is added in the second mixer. The pellet binder is not to be added in premixes, however, it can be used in dosing systems that feed into mixers provided that the holding bin is filled on a daily basis and inspected for any leftover material that can become sticky due to the hygroscopic nature of the product.

Appearance

White or creamy white and very fine powder.

Stability

It is stable for 18 months from the date of manufacture.

Storage

It should be stored in a cool, dry place protected from sunlight. Keep closed when not in use.

Presentation

Available in 25kg (55 lb) high quality WPP with HDPE-lined bags.

Compatibility

It is compatible for use with all commonly used ingredients in feed and premixes.
